Utilizing the finest French woven nylon to ensure optimum performance, style and durability, the Chroma bib short represents the pinnacle of Universal Colours collection.

Driven by rider feedback and redesigned for the 2023 season, the bib sees a higher fit in the waist, a new and soft waistband and a slightly longer leg length with an improved gripper to keep the short in place. Wider and softer straps allow for improved stretch and breathability to provide optimal comfort and fit.

The bib short features the new Elastic Interface® Road Performance Space 2 seat pad, which is wider, longer and thicker with a higher density rating, ideal for all day riding. This chamois features recycled fabrics and includes a high-performance bio-based foam layer, with 60% of its components of plant-based origin.

As with all Universal Colors women’s legwear, this short also offers a ‘Nature Calls’ pee-break friendly design. This allows you to take a ‘nature break’ without having to strip down by simply pulling the bibs down from the waist. Highly compressive, the Chroma short supports the muscles during hard efforts, while an OekoTex® 100 certified finish guarantees no harmful dyes or chemicals were used during the production process.
Offering a lifespan up to seven times longer than its knit counterpart, the lightweight nylon weave ensures these stylish shorts survive the test of time, through the toughest conditions.

Care

The use of technical and recycled fabrics in UC's collections and the deep, vibrant colors in their designs are made to last. UC would like to share a few simple rules they live by to help you maintain the quality of your item, so you can enjoy it ride after ride. You can find specific wash and care instructions on the inside or outside of each of our garments.

  •  Before washing, consider airing your cycling clothes so they can breathe a little - it helps to get the odors out.
  • If you have any muddy garments after an epic gravel ride, they recommend treating them separately. If still wet, let the mud dry completely. When dried, carefully scrape off the excess. Gently rub a bit of mild liquid detergent on the area, leave to work for a few minutes and rinse with cold water. Then, wash your garment either by hand or in the washing machine using your detergent as usual. Consider keeping the garment(s) separate as the mud could transfer onto other clothes during the washing process.
  • Turn your garment inside-out for a thorough clean and to safeguard colors and logo applications.
  • Consider putting more delicate items, such as base-layers and jerseys in a mesh laundry bag. UC recommends the use of a Guppyfriend washing bag to stop the release of microfibers from textiles that end up in rivers and oceans.
  • Avoid using harsh detergents as these can damage the properties of textile fibers and use a small amount of detergent - if you use too much soap, your machine will find it difficult to properly rinse your garments. Don’t use bleach or fabric softener.
  • Wash cold at 30 degrees to avoid textile damage and shrinkage.
  • Air dry your clothes; they like to put them on a hanger so the garment can return to its intended shape and form.
  • Their Mono cotton caps deserve a bit of special attention and they advise you to wash them on a 30-degree low spin cycle or to hand wash them in lukewarm water with a mild detergent to avoid deforming the peak.
  • Consider using a waterproofing product for clothes that are treated with a Durable Water Repellent (DWR) to help keep your garment performing like new and increase its lifespan. Water-based and environmentally safe is Nikwax®, a leader in high-performance waterproofing. UC is offering a free Nikwax Tech Wash® essentials pack with every Chroma rain jacket.
